Domestic Violence | The Smallest Voice

A children’s book with a hidden message and support services for indigenous women living in QLD communities. The response was for a pitch that helped MediaCom Brisbane retain QLD Government.

Synopsis

Illuka is a proud, powerful and colourful Lyrebird that mimics the sounds he hears in nature. He thinks the sounds he’s mimicking are always right and doesn’t know any better so he continues to keep making the same sounds that spread among the community.

One day, Illuka falls in love with Merri, a gorgeous green tree frog and they begin an unlikely family together. After years of hearing the same sounds Merri whose much smaller than Illuka can hardly get a word in, she can hardly hear herself think. When she finally goes to talk she finds that she hasn’t said anything in so long that her voice is now croaky and it is painful to talk.. even the thought of talking hurts.. after a while Merri’s voice becomes so sore and croaky that she worries she might no longer have a voice. But one day, Merri realises that there are so many other ways to be heard.. and she discovers that you don’t have to repeat what has always been the norm.

In this imaginative and uplifting fable The Smallest Voice combines richly textured and strikingly vivid illustrations of a relationships between two Australian animals that helps break the cycle of inter-generational domestic violence. The story proves that all creatures have a right to speak, to be heard, to be respected and the opportunity to determine their family values that will live on through the generations.

Princess Cruises | Experience a new perspective

I wrote and produced the strategy reel for Princess Cruises that made the client tear up (the good type). I regularly draw on the ideas in the story as a form of meditation.

KFC | No Joke

A Spanish comedian to sell Aussies a Mexican product? No joke.

Skoda | Czech Mate

When you bring together a Czech and Aussie you get probably the world’s most unusual road trip.

Bonds | Selfie Responsibly

As a pesky junior, I ran across the road to the arts and crafts store to scribble (please forgive my handwriting) a cheeky message on the mirrors of the bathrooms and elevators before the revellers arrived.

Now as an ACD, I can still have the spirit and energy of a young writer always eager to leave a mark.
